Giuliana Rancic diagnosed with breast cancer

Giuliana Rancic announced this morning she will begin treatment for early-stage breast cancer.

E! News host Giuliana Rancic made a tearful announcement during an appearance on The Today Show. "I have early stage breast cancer," Rancic, 37, said.

Rancic said that her doctor insisted she get a mammogram before she go through her third in vitro fertilization attempt -- she and her husband Bill Rancic have been trying for several years to start a family. Rancic said that her doctor told her that pregnancy hormones could "accelerate the cancer." The Giuliana & Bill star said she has no family history of breast cancer and said she "wasn’t prepared to get a mammogram until I was 40 years old." Rancic reluctantly had one, "kicking and screaming," she joked.

"I never in my wildest dreams expected anything to be wrong," she said.

When the doctor called to tell her the news, she became very emotional. "It was just a kick in the stomach," she said. "That was the hardest day. It was incredible instant sobbing, and it was like the world just crashed down around me."

She is optimistic about her prognosis and treatment, saying she is lucky she found it early.

"I will be okay, because I found it early. I'm doing surgery this coming week, and then I go to radiation for six and a half weeks," an emotional Rancic told Ann Curry.

The support of her husband has been "unbelievable," she gushes. "He lets me cry when I want to cry. He just lets me feel what I want to feel."

She said the breast cancer has not stopped her determination to start a family -- and she now has a more philosophical look at her infertility struggle. "I'm not gonna give up. That baby will have saved my life. There's some master plan. Now I know that [God] was looking out for me."

Rancic, who actually appeared in a breast cancer awareness video before she was diagnosed, said that her diagnosis has taught her an important lesson. "I think a lot of us think we're invincible. We have to start putting ourselves on the to do list," she said.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller along with the new Apple CEO Tim Cook has introduced the new iPhone 4s which will be available from October 14. The iPhone 4S also introduced “Siri”, a new voice control system. The new operating system, iOS 5 was also a much talked about subject. It was announced to be launched on October 12. along with the announcement about the iTunes Match launch in the US at the end of the month.
One of the most significant points of this evening’s announcement was Apple’s decision to keep selling the 3GS (free on contract) and iPhone 4 (from $99 on contract). Apple will be switching to 3 models in its portfolio while keeping both the 3GS and 4 at cheaper prices.
Some prices and release dates have been declared. A 16, 32 and 64GB model would be released in seven countries including Britain on October 14. The pre-orders would begin to be taken from Friday. The US prices are $199, $299 and $399, with a two-year contract. And the iPhone 4 will drop to $99.

Beyonce seems to be missing her baby bump—for real, this time! Amid highly disputed and denied rumors of the entertainer's faux pregnancy, her curves have really managed to disappear in one of her latest magazine shoots. Wonder what husband Jay-Z had to say about that?! Bey looks sexy and beautiful for the November 2011 cover of Harper's Bazaar, but it seems the glossy went a bit too far in the Photoshop department, completely editing her "bootylicious" body and exchanging it for one that is, well, less so.

Never ones to take the au naturel route, magazines (not to mention cosmetics brands and fashion labels) have developed quite the reputation for nipping and tucking, priming and polishing, their celeb- and model-dotted covers, advertisements and editorial spreads—in some instances, taking their Photoshop fantasies to near unrecognizable effect for the featured star.

Hope and Maks (24/30): Hope Solo and Maks Chmerkovskiy were "Livin' on a Prayer" with a tango that Len Goodman said showed "no strength" on Hope's part.

That's the bad of it. The rose colored glasses Bruno Tonioli was wearing made her look like a '80s vixen who was in control. We'll meet the boys in the middle and say she attacked it, but almost made it look a bit too hard.

Carson and Anna (19/30): Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunkaya broke out their Wham-dancing for a crazy-fun jive that made us laugh and clap all at the same. Here's why we clapped: He danced with wrist pom poms and did high kicks!

Bruno said it was "loopier than a Looney Tune," but not in a bad way. He said it was a "crowing achievement in madness." The only problem we see here, is that there's not much technique -- and it is week five.

Nancy and Tristan (22/30): Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus took the rumba back to the '80s but left the connection and passion somewhere else.

We're not sure where Len got the "it was effective" comment from or what Bruno was watching to get him to say it was "exactly right," because we missed all that.

J.R. and Karina (28/30): J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff took on the samba. Many men have failed at this rhythm-crushing dance, but not J.R. Martinez. He wiped the floor clean with his Latin flare, which we learned was in is blood.

Len said if any man comes out and asks how to do a samba, he'll say, "have a look at J.R." and Bruno said he was a "sex machine." Carrie Ann Inaba dropped some bleeps over his hotness -- so, it's safe to say J.R. Martinez is back!

Rob and Cheryl (25/30): This week, Rob Kardashian elevated himself to a leading man with his rumba. Cheryl Burke really brought out the sexy side of Rob. He was confident and in control -- everything we knew he could be.


Bruno said, "We started to see Rob the heartthrob." That says it all.

Chaz and Lacey (21/30): Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer paired Kool and the Gang with the samba for a party on the DWTS floor!

He proved big guys can shake their caboose! The best part was that he actually danced this week. There was no babying the knees or moving slow. He really "gave it a go" as Len said.

David and Kym (25/30): David Arquette found balance this week and showed the tango who's boss! Kym Johnson gave him the perfect choreography to attack and everyone on the panel agreed he was in charge this week.



Carrie Ann and Len fought over his musicality, but who cares, he came to win!

Ricki and Derek (24/30): Ricki Lake and Derek Hough have dominated the last three weeks, and while their fox trot was '80s cool, it didn't gel at all.

As Bruno said, "You can't be a genius every week." Their running man wasn't on and the footwork was all over the place.
