Never ones to take the au naturel route, magazines (not to mention cosmetics brands and fashion labels) have developed quite the reputation for nipping and tucking, priming and polishing, their celeb- and model-dotted covers, advertisements and editorial spreads—in some instances, taking their Photoshop fantasies to near unrecognizable effect for the featured star.
While the pregnant Beyonce's face remains plenty identifiable for Harper's Bazaar, it is her physique that registers as unfamiliar. Obviously digitally tweaked and "enhanced," the pregnant Love on Top singer's body no longer bears the promise of motherhood, as her baby bump has all but vanished. In addition, her legs have been slimmed and tapered down to mere sticks.
The difference between Beyonce's actual body and the one on the magazine cover is pretty evident, even with just a quick glance. But, Daily Mail has posted some behind-the-scenes footage from the Harper's Bazaar shoot (untouched by Photoshop, of course), which provides more proof of the discrepancy. In the film, she certainly is rocking a more voluptuous form, complete with a legitimate baby bump and her normal-sized legs.
Another recent Photoshop gaffe came courtesy of Glamour and its November cover featuring Twilight actress Kristen Stewart. Due to the magic of photo editing, her left arm mysteriously vanished behind her leg, totally ruining an otherwise pretty picture.
